Experience village life, local cuisine and the spectacular elephant gatherings of the Cultural Triangle before journeying into the central hills.

In Mahiyanganaya, wake to sunrise over Sorabora Wewa and experience the quieter side of Sri Lanka before travelling to Kandy and onwards into the emerald tea country of Hatton.

Day 2 – Colombo – Chilaw

Day 3 – Chilaw

Today offers an authentic glimpse into one of Sri Lanka’s traditional rural livelihoods.

Visit a coconut plantation to experience traditional toddy tapping, a centuries-old practice of collecting the sap of coconut palms.

Watch skilled toddy tappers move between the tall palms and learn how the freshly collected sap is gathered and naturally fermented.

The experience provides an opportunity to meet local workers, learn about this traditional craft and taste the freshly collected toddy while surrounded by the peaceful landscapes of the coconut country.

Day 4 – Chilaw – Anawilundawa – Wilpattu

Day 5 – Wilpattu

Set out early for a full-day jeep safari in Wilpattu National Park, with a packed breakfast and lunch.

Covering a vast area of forest, grassland and natural lakes known as villus, Wilpattu is one of Sri Lanka’s most important wildlife habitats.

The park is particularly known for its leopard population, while elephants, deer, crocodiles and a rich variety of birdlife may also be encountered.

The natural lakes scattered throughout the park attract wildlife and create some of the most beautiful safari landscapes in Sri Lanka.

Return to your hotel towards the end of the afternoon and unwind after a full day in the wilderness.

Day 6 – Wilpattu – Anuradhapura – Sigiriya

Day 7 – Sigiriya – Minneriya – Sigiriya

Day 11 – Kandy – Hatton

Day 12 – Hatton
