Mihintale is a mountain peak near Anuradhapura. It is believed to be the site of a meeting between the Buddhist monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa which established the existence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.It is not hard to climb Mihintale, it takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Mihintale is a best place to see the sunset. Mihintale is not touristy at all. Apart from the rock you can go into the forest and dicover Kalu diya pokuna ( Natural black water pond) also.
